“French Supreme Court Dismisses all Charges of Defamation Against Senior Simon Wiesenthal Centre Official.”

In a landmark case, France’s Supreme Court exonerated the Simon Wiesenthal Centre’s Director for International Relations, Dr Shimon Samuels, of charges of “conspiracy to defame” brought by the Committee for Welfare and Aid to the Palestinians (Comité de bienfaisance et de secours aux Palestiniens, CBSP).

This judgment ended a five-year series of lawsuits in French Courts suing Dr Samuels for writing “[through the] CBSP, a French organization that funds terrorism and which was banned in the United States.’’ The umbrella Union of the Islam Organisations in France (Union des organisations islamiques de France, UOIF) raises funds for the families of Hamas suicide terrorists, a campaign masked under the slogan “For just 50 euros, you can sponsor an orphan in Palestine.”

Born and bred in the United Kingdom and as Director for International Relations of the Simon Wiesenthal Centre, I feel concerned about the Jewish/Israel dimension of the three dramatic transitions that have occurred over the past three days:

1) Great Britain has a new Prime Minister;
2) The Loss of our Queen, whose 1953 Coronation we watched from an in-law’s window along the London route;
3) The United Kingdom has a new King.

Mr. Minister of the Interior, Gerald Darmanin,

You will recall our conversation at the CRIF dinner, where we congratulated you for your action in closing those mosques used by extremist Imams to spew antisemitism and tarnish the values of the Republic.

Now, backed by the final decision of the Council of State, you have decided to expel a master of hate, Imam Hassan Iquioussen.
