In a letter to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelinsky, the Simon Wiesenthal Centre Director for International Relations, Dr. Shimon Samuels, raised the case of Dr. Saleh Daher Muhamed’s “Congress Shield” organization, based in Odessa.

“Daher’s presence on the Internet is replete with charitable activity through the ‘International Congress on Protection of Rights and Freedoms of Citizens’, yet apparently contains outrageous images propagating antisemitism,” argued Samuels.

In a letter to European Commission Coordinator on Combating Antisemitism, Katharina Von Schnurbein, the Simon Wiesenthal Centre Director for International Relations, Dr. Shimon Samuels, and the President of the European Coalition of Cities Against Racism, Dr. Benedetto Zacchiroli, brought attention to the abuse of Italy and its wine industry into playing the role of “the hatemongering wine-waiter of Europe.”

Buenos Aires, 23 September 2019

In its session of August 22, 2019, Buenos Aires City Council approved the resolution of Counceller Gastón Blanchetière declaring the “Importance for the Promotion and Defense of Human Rights” of the creation of the Simon Wiesenthal Foundation on Antisemitism and the Holocaust at the National Library of Argentina, with more than 1,000 books donated in less than a year.

The City representatives acknowledged Lic. Elsa Barber, Director of the National Library and Dr. Ariel Gelblung, Wiesenthal Center's Latin American Representative, for their initiative.

The Simon Wiesenthal Centre was delighted to follow the 30th International Conference, organized by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs at the Egyptian Ministry of Islamic Endowments (Awqaf).

Delegates from 57 Muslim countries participated, in addition to twenty from Africa.

This 19th Annual Conference, dubbed “The Davos Forum Against Terror,” drew some 1,400 politicians, academics, security officials and media, including candidates in the forthcoming Israeli elections.

Invited for the 8th year running, the Simon Wiesenthal Centre Director for International Relations, Dr. Shimon Samuels, brought attention to the role and fungibility of both African “conflict gold” and the disappearance of most of Venezuela’s gold reserve in the context of terrorism.
