For the eleventh year, the Simon Wiesenthal Centre is the only non-governmental organization to monitor incitement to hate and violence on the display stands of the Frankfurt Book Fair. With over 7,400 exhibitors from 100 countries and more than 300,000 visitors, this is the largest annual international gathering of the publishing industry.
“We now urge you to publicly condemn Judeophobic stereotyping on television and to plan a programme on the dangers to France of rampant antisemitism.”

In a letter to Canal+ President, Bertrand Meheut, the Simon Wiesenthal Centre’s Director for International Relations, Dr. Shimon Samuels, congratulated the private television channel for “suspending the programme of Sébastien Thoen, following the intervention of our partner organization, the BNCVA (Bureau national de vigilance contre l’antisémitisme) and ourselves.”

In a letter to Special Advisor to the UN Secretary-General on Sport for Development and Peace (UNOSDP), Wilfried Lemke, the Simon Wiesenthal Centre’s Director for International Relations, Dr. Shimon Samuels, called for newly elected International Olympic Committee President to be pressed to resign forthwith his Chairmanship of German agency for boycott of Israel.

The Simon Wiesenthal Centre’s Director for International Relations, Dr. Shimon Samuels, was invited by the Russian Holocaust Centre to keynote an international conference on “Children – Victims of Terror.” This was held, in Beslan and the Wladikavkaz State University, on the ninth anniversary of the 3 day siege of 1,100 hostages—including 770 children—at the Beslan school in North Ossetia Caucasus, Russia.
