In a letter to Spanish Prime Minister (President of the Government) Mariano Rajoy, the Simon Wiesenthal Centre Director for International Relations, Dr. Shimon Samuels, noted that “foreign tourists attending the ‘corrida’ at the Madrid Pinto bullring have shared with us their shock to see the arena decorated with a banner emblazoned with the swastika and the profile of Hitler, proclaiming ‘Adolf Hitler Tenia Razon’ (‘Adolf Hitler was right’).”

“The flying public can demonstrate its stand against bigotry by exercising its right to choose airlines of other alliances.”

In a letter to SkyTeam Chairman, Leo van Wilk, the Simon Wiesenthal Centre’s Director for International Relations, Dr. Shimon Samuels, noted that the Centre, in June 2011, “was the first to express concern at the then announced air services agreement between Delta Airlines and Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAA or Saudia), in regard to its implications for Christian and Jewish passengers.”

In a letter to Greek President Karolos Papoulias, the Simon Wiesenthal Centre Director for International Relations, Dr. Shimon Samuels, drew attention to the front page of the 4 August edition of the largest nation-wide circulation newspaper, Poto Thema, obtained from the Greek Helsinki Monitor. The photo featured the Spokesman and Golden Dawn Member of Parliament, Elias Kasidiàris, on his beach vacation last week.

In a letter to Finnish President, Sauli Vainamo Niinistö, the Simon Wiesenthal Centre Director for International Relations, Dr. Shimon Samuels, drew attention to Juha Kärkkäinen, founder of the chain of department stores that bears his family name, also apparently, editor in chief of a free newspaper “Magneettimedia” (www.magneettimedia.com).

In a letter to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Director General Pascal Lamy, the Simon Wiesenthal Centre's Director for International Relations, Dr. Shimon Samuels, drew attention to the "just announced European Union guidelines that 'ban EU funding of Israeli institutions operating in territories occupied since the 1967 Middle East War' to take effect on 1 January 2014".
